END OF AUTUMN END OF AUTUMN was Modern
Films Production's second feature film and more ambitious. It followed two girls (played by Pia Ho and Margaret Lee) who
have both recently returned to Hong Kong but exist in two different time zones, separated by one hour. They visit friends
(the same ex-boyfriend) and places that hold memories for them. As they gradually become conscious of each other's presence,
they wonder if the other is a ghost. Directed by Jim Shum, production began in 1990 but halted. In between, Shum
shot the short feature BEDSIDE, using the same actors and drawing on some of the same elements. Production on END OF AUTUMN
did not resume and the film remains unfinished.
